DVI And HDMI PC Interface
DVI - Digital Visual Interactive is a video interface which provide high quality visual on digital displays like
LCD computer displays and digital video projectors. DVI technology can support uncompressed video data to
a display, and is somewhat compatible with the HDMI technology standard, both in digital and analog modes.
DVI-D and DVI-A.
If your computer have a DVI connector then you can simply use a connector cable to connect your PC with
your external HDMI-Enabled display monitor or TV set.
The signal of DVI is electrically compatible with the video signal of HDMI, and there is no need for signal
conversion if an asymmetric cable or an adapter is plugged, and therefore there is no loss in video quality.
A simple DVI to HDMI cable will be enough.
HDMI - High-Definition Multimedia Interface allows full screen, uncompressed digital audio and video data
transfer, as you may already know.
If your computer is equipped with an HDMI connector, then simply using an HDMI to HDMI cable will make
the required connection. Be sure to buy the proper type of cable, check your devices manuals to find out
what type of HDMI versions they use (Type A, B, C or D) and buy the right cable type.
